the australian government is stupid

So for some reason the aussie government bans any game they don't like

here's a few games they banned/censored:

• Manhunt
• Postal 1 and 2 (although these were overturned)
• The Reservoir Dogs game tie-in
• The Witcher 2 (this was censored)
• BMX XXX (the game was shit though so technically they did us a favor)
• Left 4 Dead 2 (had the german censorship)
• a fucking weed mod for minecraft
• Duke Nukem 3D (this got overturned though)
• and many more

to be honest the stupidest censor that australia did was when they made bethesda make an edit to the worldwide release to fallout 3 because they didn't like the word morphine so now it's "Med-X"

but the one that pisses me off the most is Hotline Miami 2.

as you can see from my list of favorite games, Hotline Miami is one of them. The game is awesome and i've probably sunk hundreds of hours in it.

But the sequel, it got banned. Why? Because of a rape scene that was entirely skippable, yet the game is still banned to this day. It even makes it impossible for aussie PAYDAY 2 players to be able to 100% the game.

I've always believed that the only thing censorship of videogames do is promote piracy and key resellers like G2A. With the rise of the Internet, it isn't hard to track down a game, movie, or book you want free of cost. So in my opinion, censorship does nothing to stop someone from accessing the blocked media. A few google searches and maybe a VPN is all you need.
